The Wish

It wasn’t the best wish he could have had.

“You have one wish,” the genie had said. Before he could imagine a world of wealth and power, the genie continued:

“And you wish is the power to bring someone back from the dead.”

He was disappointed. What kind of wish was that? And what would they think about it? Freak them right out!

Then he realised what he would do.

“Can I delay it?” he asked the genie. “Like put a timer on the wish being fulfilled?”

The genie didn’t see a problem with that.

He wrote this wish down on a piece of paper and gave it to the genie.

“Give me a week then bring me back,” he said, before jumping out the window of his tenth floor apartment.
